Red Oak

An extremely popular choice, Red Oak is usually reddish in tone in its natural state; however the species takes stains of varying colors quite well. "Northern" Red Oak is more uniform in color, with a desirable rich wheat hue and tighter, more closely held grain pattern, mellowing the floor's over all appearance.

Clear

This grade provides a uniform appearance while allowing for all the natural color variations in heartwood. This is the highest grade of Red Oak available and some of America's most stately and distinguished floors are floored with this grade.

Quarter Sawn

This grade of Red Oak is Select in grade but what is truly unique is that the growth rings lay tangent to the face of the flooring and run parallel with the length. At least 50 percent of the piece contains quartered characteristics. One of these fantastic characteristics are the "rays" which are visible from different angles and provide incredible distinguishing character to the floor.
